Building on the reputation of the world-famous Peavey CS® 800, which conquered the power amp market in the 1970s, the CS® Series is the global standard bearer for workhorse reliability. Over the years, these amps have benefited from some of Peavey's most popular audio innovations, including their exclusive DDT™ compression/anti-clipping protection. With its 2RU design and power points up to 4080 watts, this latest evolution of the CS® Series is leaner, louder, and lighter than ever.

Since 1975 the Peavey CS Series professional power amps have been delivering the solid performance and unsurpassed reliability for which Peavey is famous. Advanced technologies and extensive protection circuitry allow continuous operation, even under difficult loads and power conditions. These new, even more powerful models use 14 power transistors per channel, almost twice the number found in more expensive competitors. All amps in the series feature multi-rail class G/H topology and massive toroidal transformers, and fit in 2 rack spaces. A new RampUp™ circuit protects speakers from potentially damaging turn-on bursts of power.

Advanced technology and extensive protection circuitry allow operation with greater efficiency into difficult loads and power conditions. The DDT™ (Distortion Detection Technique) circuitry ensures trouble-free operation into loads as low as 2 ohms. DDT protects drivers and ensures that sonic integrity is maintained, even in extreme overload conditions. The IPR2's high-efficiency design allows the amplifier to operate at very low temperatures, and does not require massive heat sinks to cool.
